Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Trip Information: Destinations, entry/exit dates, visa types, and notes
- Passport Profiles: Passport nationality and profile names
- Travel Documents: Photos of passports, visas, and other documents you choose to store
- Custom Trackers: Day counting configurations for personal tracking needs
- Residence Tracking: Days in/out of your home country for compliance purposes
- App Preferences: Theme settings, notification preferences, and display options
Location Data (Optional)
If you enable GPS Border Tracking:
- Location data is processed locally on your device to detect border crossings
- Location data is never uploaded to any server
- You can disable this feature at any time in Settings
- This feature requires explicit opt-in consent
Analytics Data
We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve the app, such as:
- App crash reports (through Apple's standard crash reporting)
- General usage patterns (which features are used most)
- Device type and iOS version (for compatibility purposes)
This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
How We Use Your Information
Your locally stored data is used to:
- Calculate your visa day allowances and remaining days

Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
All your personal data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms provided by iOS. We do not have access to this data.
iCloud Backup
If you choose to enable iCloud backup:
- Backups are stored in your personal iCloud Drive
- Backups are encrypted by Apple's iCloud security
- Only you have access to your backup files
- We cannot access your iCloud backups
Document Storage
Photos of travel documents are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to any cloud service unless you explicitly share them.
Third-Party Services
Borderwise may integrate with the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases
- Apple iCloud: For optional backup functionality (user-controlled)
- RevenueCat: For subscription management (processes only transaction data, not personal travel data)

Your Rights and Choices
You have full control over your data:
- Access: All your data is visible within the app
- Export: Export your trips and data as CSV, JSON, or text files
- Delete: Delete individual trips, documents, or all data at any time
- Backup: Create and manage your own backups
- Opt-out: Disable GPS tracking, notifications, or any optional features
Children's Privacy
Borderwise is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
