Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are the visa day calculations?

Borderwise uses official visa rules for each zone, but immigration laws can change. Always verify with official embassy or government sources before traveling. The app is an informational tool, not legal advice.

Is my data secure?

Yes! All your travel data is stored locally on your device. We never upload your personal information to our servers. If you enable iCloud backup, that data is stored in your personal iCloud account with Apple's encryption.

How does GPS border tracking work?

When enabled (Premium feature), the app uses background location to detect when you cross international borders and can automatically create trips. This data stays on your device and is never uploaded.

Can I track multiple passports?

Yes! You can create multiple passport profiles and switch between them. Each profile tracks visa days independently based on that passport's nationality.

What's the difference between "Policy Max Days" and "Granted Days"?

"Policy Max Days" is the general rule (like 90 days for Schengen). "Granted Days" is what the immigration officer actually stamped in your passport, which might differ from the policy.

How do I restore my data on a new device?

If you have iCloud backup enabled, your data will sync automatically when you sign in with the same Apple ID. You can also manually export/import backups via the Settings menu.

Why does Schengen show 90/180 days?

The Schengen Area uses a rolling 180-day window. You can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Borderwise calculates this automatically based on your trip history.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Can I use the app offline?

Yes! Borderwise works completely offline. All calculations are done locally on your device. An internet connection is only needed for iCloud sync and subscription management.

What are Custom Trackers?

Custom Trackers (Premium) let you track any day-based requirement beyond standard visa rulesโ€”like tax residency (183 days), health insurance eligibility, or personal goals.
