By downloading, installing, or using Borderwise ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Please read these Terms carefully before using Borderwise. Your use of the App constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
Description of Service
Borderwise is a travel tracking application that helps users:
- Track travel history and visa day usage
- Calculate remaining days in various visa zones (Schengen, UK, USA, etc.)
- Monitor residence compliance requirements
- Store travel documents digitally
- Create custom day trackers for personal needs
- Receive notifications about travel and visa deadlines

BORDERWISE IS AN INFORMATIONAL TOOL ONLY. IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL LEGAL, IMMIGRATION, OR VISA ADVICE.
The information provided by Borderwise:
- Is for general informational purposes only
- Should not be relied upon as legal or immigration advice
- May not reflect the most current visa regulations or requirements
- Does not guarantee compliance with any country's immigration laws
- Should always be verified with official government sources or qualified immigration professionals

User Responsibilities
By using Borderwise, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when logging trips and travel data
- Verify all visa calculations with official sources before traveling
- Maintain the security of your device and any stored travel documents
- Not use the App for any illegal purposes
- Take responsibility for your own immigration compliance
- Keep backups of important data
Subscription Terms
Free Tier
Borderwise offers a free tier with limited features, including:
- Basic trip tracking (limited number of trips)
- Limited document storage
- Access to selected visa zones
Premium Subscription
Premium subscriptions unlock additional features:
- Unlimited trip tracking
- Unlimited document storage
- All visa zones
- Custom trackers
- GPS border tracking
- iCloud backup
- Export reports
Payment and Billing
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods
Free Trial
If a free trial is offered:
- The trial converts to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled
- Unused portions of a free trial are forfeited upon purchasing a subscription
Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Borderwise, including but not limited to:
- Software code and architecture
- Visual design and user interface
- Icons, graphics, and images
- Visa data and calculations
Are owned by Borderwise and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App.
Data and Privacy
Your use of Borderwise is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. Key points:
- Your travel data is stored locally on your device
- We do not upload or have access to your personal travel data
- GPS data (if enabled) remains on your device
- You are responsible for backing up your data
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BORDERWISE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
This includes, without limitation:
- Immigration violations or penalties
- Denied entry to any country
- Deportation or removal
- Visa overstays or violations
- Loss of immigration status
- Travel disruptions or missed flights
- Loss of data
- Any other damages arising from use of or inability to use the App
Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Borderwise and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any immigration laws or regulations
- Any claims by third parties related to your use of the App
Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue any feature of the App at any time
- Update visa data and calculations
- Change subscription pricing with reasonable notice
- Update these Terms of Service
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the App
- Any other reason at our discretion
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Borderwise operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
